Wrote this back in January and never published. Better late than never!
January — Holbox, Yucatan (Mexico)
My first time visiting Mexico. I loved it and already want to visit again. The Yucatan was full of incredible people, beautiful scenery, and delicious food. Originally planned this trip as a solo adventure, thankful I spent it with two of my close college buddies. My favorite spot was Valladolid, an inviting old colonial town with a church and cenote in the town center. This picture was from Isla Holbox.
February — Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
I moved to Pittsburgh in August 2022. This was their first serious snowstorm. Coincidentally also when I began a serious relationship. Our first date was on a different snowy evening, sharing conversations over steaming bowls of pho as it flurried outside. This was a beautiful church near my house. On the right is Negley Hill, I still don't understand how cars would use it during snowstorms
March — Miami, Florida
Escaped Pittsburgh's winter to Miami for a family trip. This was my second time in the city. Inspired by the Spanish conversations I kept hearing and my sister, I downloaded Duolingo and have kept up with it. Over the weekend I saw beautiful art and stuffed myself with empanadas. This photo shows a rather stylish man in a Little Havana bar, they had delicious empanadas as well. March was a crazy month, went directly to St. Louis to attend my first wedding as an adult.
April — Washington, DC
My first time visiting DC. Also a big step for my partner and me, we visited a close friend of mine. Discovered that the Vice President's building is much cooler than the White House. Enjoyed the cherry blossoms in full bloom. Still need to go back to visit the Air and Space museum.
May — Bloomington, Indiana
A stop to the alma matter to celebrate my sister's graduation. Felt like I was back home, visited all of my favorite restaurants and bars. This was about two months after Russia invaded Ukraine, you can see the support in the downtown courthouse. I visited Indiana again in May for the Indy 500, which is always crazy.
June — Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
One of my office days. This view is from the PNC headquarters downtown. I'll always miss Pittsburgh's beautiful topography. The hills and rivers have a place in my heart.
July — Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Many of the beautiful days in Pittsburgh were filled with biking around the city. These days were filled with sun, sweat, beers, and smiles. This is the usual aftermath after making it up the massive hill near Carnegie Mellon. A quick snooze is required before finishing up the ride.
August — Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
I moved to Philly with my partner. Another big step for us, and we've been happy with the decision since. We loved exploring the city's interesting history and delicious food.
September — Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
My family came to visit in September. We stopped at Angelo's to get everyone their first cheesesteak. I was extremely fulfilled.
October — Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Another Philly picture, another cheesesteak. I thought Steelers fans were quite extreme, Eagles fans are on a different level. This was the Cowboys vs. Eagles tailgate, can you spot the man's aggressive t-shirt in the back? I thought I was going to witness an assault here.
November — Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
2021-2022 was a year of bowling. I had some friends from back home that got into it. Continued the trend after moving to Pittsburgh and Philly. I took this photo to make up for missing my partner's first strike.
December — Indianapolis, Indiana
Back home in Indy. Ziggy is one of my favorite things on this planet. He's sleeping right next to me as I type this. I love him dearly. This photo is from my little cousin's new polaroid camera.
It's been a great year. I'm thankful for all the beautiful memories and the people I can share them with.
